D'Angelo Russell praises Anthony Davis' 'masterful' performance in close win

Anthony Davis had a great game against the Orland Magic on Monday, Oct. 30, scoring 26 points and 19 rebounds to help his team to a 106-103 win. The Lakers now have two wins and two losses in their opening four games.

D'Angelo Russell praised Davis' performance against Orlando. After the game, cameras caught him telling Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka, "AD is a monster. The experienced guard has witnessed Davis' dominance at the top of his game.

Since struggling in his first game against the Denver Nuggets, Davis has put together three impressive performances for the Lakers and is emerging as a mainstay of the team.

Davis is expected to be the team's first option, leaving LeBron James as the second option to build energy for the playoffs.

The Lakers haven't enjoyed the start they wanted despite Davis' performance, but if their star player continues to perform like he has in recent games, the Lakers will continue to win. Davis can be a dominant force on the team when healthy and committed, which will give the Lakers a legitimate chance to compete this season.
